TAPA works closely with Law Enforcement Agency partners across the EMEA region as well as through engagements with INTERPOL and Europol.

This includes cargo crime intelligence sharing on both a national and regional level with police forces which recognise the valuable way TAPA members use this information to prevent future crimes from occurring. Sharing incident information with TAPA is seen as a fast, efficient and assured way to disseminate useful intelligence to a large and growing community of loss prevention stakeholders.

TAPA EMEA was the first industry association to be invited to join Project CARGO, an EU-financed project led by the German State Office of Investigation of Saxony-Anhalt targeting mobile organised crime groups specialising in cargo theft.

The project’s first meeting in The Hague was attended by law enforcement investigators from Germany, France, Czech Republic, Sweden, the Netherlands, Denmark and Austria as well as specialists from Europol, the European Union’s law enforcement agency, and Eurojust, the EU agency dealing with judicial co-operation in criminal matters among agencies of the Member States.

TAPA is proactively seeking more intelligence sharing partnerships with Law Enforcement Agencies in every country in EMEA to create the best possible understanding of cargo crime trends in each market and to support its members’ supply chain security programmes.

The benefits for LEAs of working with TAPA includes:

  • Identified Single Points of Contact within industry to progress operations and investigations
  • Increased and faster flows of flow
  • Potential overt and covert intelligence
  • Access to TAPA’s Intelligence Service (TIS)
  • Invitations to attend TAPA’s Annual & regional conferences
  • Personal copies of Vigilant, TAPA’s monthly e-Magazine, including monthly cargo crime data
  • TAPA’s quarterly TIS reports
  • A copy of the latest TAPA EMEA TIS Annual Report
  • Access to historical cargo loss reports for the EMEA region

Become a TAPA EMEA LEA contact

To support the Association’s proactive engagement with Law Enforcement Agencies in the EMEA region, TAPA is also looking to appoint a TAPA nominee in each country to act as an LEA contact, tasked with building relationships and establishing intelligence sharing agreements with LEA partners within their allocated region or country.

TAPA members interested in supporting this objective are asked to contact us.
