One of TAPA EMEA’s goals is to increase our visibility of cargo security threats and supply chain resilience challenges in Africa and, in support of this, to grow the Association’s membership, intelligence, and certifications across the African continent.
Whilst we have a high volume of incident data for cargo crimes in South Africa, we currently have very few losses reported to the TAPA EMEA Intelligence System (TIS) from supply chains in other countries in Africa. We believe increasing the TAPA EMEA footprint and membership across this important and emerging continent will benefit all our members with supply chain operations in Africa.
To drive this initiative forward, we are giving our former South Africa Regional Working Group a new remit covering the entire African continent. I am delighted to confirm that Massimo Carelle, Managing Director of Bradian Risk & Resilience Solutions, has accepted our invitation to lead this new group on behalf of TAPA EMEA. With this change, he will take over the Regional Lead from Waheed Mohamed of TITAN Aviation Group and I wish to thank Waheed for his support over the past 12 months.
At our highly successful Regional Conference in South Africa this month, we met with our local TAPA EMEA team of volunteers to discuss our future growth strategy in Africa, so, again, special thanks to:
Based on their feedback, and our very constructive discussions with local delegates in Johannesburg, we are launching a new TAPA EMEA Subregional Africa Membership for companies based in Africa. This is designed to give our new TAPA EMEA Subregional Africa Working Group the impetus to introduce our Association to more potential new members, intelligence providers, and users of the TAPA Standards.
Our new TAPA EMEA Subregional Africa Membership cost and benefits are as follows:
Full membership
SSP (Security Service Provider) membership
This is an update to the 50% membership discount we have offered to companies in South Africa for the past eight years or more – and it opens up Subregional Africa Membership to companies now across the whole of Africa.
Of course, members based in Africa who want to have a Full TAPA EMEA Membership – with more representatives and the opportunity to attend our main EMEA Face-to-Face RESILIENCE@RISK conference – can still take this Full Membership option.
We hope this opportunity will enable us to obtain not only new members In Africa but, consequently, more risk intelligence, cargo crime data and information from across the African continent as well as more companies adopting our supply chain security standards.
We will, of course, keep you updated on our progress and, if applicable, invite you to share this opportunity with your partners or suppliers based in Africa which you believe will benefit from becoming part of the TAPA EMEA Family.
Companies in Africa wishing to take a TAPA EMEA Subregional Africa membership should contact info@tapaemea.org
