New 18-month data released by TAPA EMEA in summer 2025 highlighted the scale of crime now impacting supply chains across the Europe, Middle East & Africa region.
Based only on incidents reported directly to our Association’s TAPA EMEA Intelligence System (TIS), and bearing in mind that less than 4% of these cargo theft crimes provided any financial data, we recorded:
- >97,700 cargo theft incidents targeting supply chains across EMEA
- >110 countries in reporting cargo crimes
- >€2 billion of product losses from supply chains
- >€3.6 million of goods stolen every 24 hours
- >€2.5 million average loss value for thefts targeting goods worth €100K or more
- >20 TIS product categories reporting losses
All these statistics were recorded by TAPA EMEA over a period of less than 550 days.
