With incidents of recorded cargo crime in the Europe, Middle East & Africa region consistently rising year-on-year, the threats to goods in facilities and during transportation as well as the risks to company assets and personnel are now greater than at any time in the history of our Association. To protect their supply chain resilience, more than ever, companies are now valuing the support of leading providers of supply chain security products and services to counter these risks.
Cargo crime has a significant impact of the resilience, finances, and reputations of global companies and their suppliers. In the last 36 months alone, the TAPA EMEA Intelligence System (TIS) has recorded >70,000 cargo theft incidents in >90 countries in EMEA involving >€578 million of product losses from supply chains, based on only 10% of incident reports stating a loss value.
The growth of cargo crime in the EMEA region, and an accelerating business focus on the strategic importance of supply chain resilience, has driven our membership in EMEA to a record level and is also reflected in the double-digit annual growth in certifications for our Security Standards.
Today, the TAPA EMEA Family is bigger and stronger than at any time in our history, and this will continue in 2024. As a TAPA EMEA 2024 Premier Partner, companies can enjoy a year-round opportunity to promote their brands and showcase their supply chain security products and services to an engaged audience of users and buyers.
