TAPA EMEA Launches New German Language Driver Security Training Course 

TAPA EMEA’s new online Driver Training course is now available in a German language version. 

This 2.5hr course costs just €25.00 per person for member companies or €50.00 per person for non-members. A more cost-efficient solution is also available for bulk bookings.

The training is designed to increase truck drivers’ safety and awareness of cargo security and crime risks, including the modus operandi used by criminals to target goods in transit. It allows drivers to complete the course modules at their own pace and receive a Training Certificate on completion of the training. The course incorporates all relevant topics from TAPA’s Trucking Security Requirements (TSR).

The TAPA EMEA Intelligence System (TIS) has reports of criminal attacks on trucks across the whole of EMEA and Germany is one of the top 5 countries in the region for such incidents. In 2024, TIS recorded 3,250 cargo theft incidents in Germany, over 65% of which involved attacks on trucks and put driver safety at risk. Losses for the 20% of these crimes reporting a value averaged >€46 million, while the average value of major supply chain losses of €100K or more stood at €658,692.

Across EMEA, the commercial driver community are fully aware of the risks they face on the road and while stopped in parking places, including the threat of violence from offenders. In 2024, TAPA EMEA also launched a Driver Security Guide in 16 languages to help raise awareness of these risks and to offer advice to drivers and their employers to increase safety and security.
